Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend!
Our Early Years setting is set up ready for an exciting week looking at people and communities. We will be exploring people’s jobs through play.
We have just finished Phase 2 of Letters and Sounds, so this week we will be recapping all of the sounds and Tricky words. We will also be assessing each child individually to see which sounds still need to be consolidated. We will let you know which sounds and Tricky words that your child knows and still needs to learn by putting a sticker in their Home / School Reading Diary once s/he has completed the task.
This week we will be focusing on reading and ordering numbers from smallest to largest.
Stay and Play
Don’t forget Stay and Play on Wednesday 8.45am – 9.15am. It’s lovely to see so many of you attending and also the toddler siblings enjoying being at school too.
It is the turn of Gruffalo class to attend Forest School with Mrs Read this week, so don’t forget your full waterproofs, wellies and warm clothing such as hat and gloves. Simba class got very wet last week, but had a fantastic time and returned back at school buzzing about what they’d learnt and how they caught and measured the rain.
It’s Parents Evening on Tuesday (with me) and Thursday (with Mrs Read) this week. If you haven’t already made an appointment, the online booking system is now closed, however we would love you to make an appointment so we can discuss how your child has settled into life at Simon de Senlis so please speak to me tomorrow and I’ll book you an appointment.
Have a great week!
