#WAKWHS2 Splashing fun, but we didn’t find Lady Arabella!

Over the past two weeks all of the Reception children have visited Danes Camp swimming pool. Today was the turn of Gruffalo class.

We all had lots of fun splashing about in the shallow end and have gained more confidence in the water. The children listened to instructions very well and got changed independently in the changing rooms.

Whilst in the water we thought about our school Knight Simon who is on an adventure across the sea to save Lady Arabella, and explored our different senses in the water.

A massive thank you to all of the parent helpers and extra school staff who made these visits possible due to the 1 adult to 2 children ratio that was needed in the pool due to the age of the children. Without your support this wonderful experience could not have gone ahead, so thank you from us and all the children!

  1. I think Simon will find lady Arabella and fight that bad guy who kidnapped her. When we are going to visit swimming pool again?

    • We had a brilliant time paddling and splashing didn’t we? I was super impressed with how well you could all dry and dress yourselves.

  2. Was it fun and exciting at the swimming pool? – Ellis
Did you splash and have really good fun? – Kayla
Did you find any clues about Lady Arabella? – Addison

    • It was great fun Mia! Hopefully we will be able to do it again in the future, but we did need lots of adults to make it run really smoothly and safely with our young children.

      • It was great fun! We did lots of splashing and exploring our senses with the water and talked about what it would be like to be at sea like Simon. We didn’t find any clues about Lady Arabella, but I don’t think she would have liked to get her beautiful hair as wet as we did!

I loved to splashing my legs and lie down on my stomach and back in the water.
